MEET THE TEAM
PROVIDING GUIDANCE AND EDUCATION TO OUR RESIDENTS
Meet Our
PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Dr. Diane Wilkinson is our new Residency Program Director this year, but she is not new to our program.
Dr. Wilkinson was born and raised in the small Mississippi Gulf Coast town of Bay St. Louis. She graduated with Highest Honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. She then obtained her medical degree from the University of Mississippi in Jackson, MS. When looking for a program to do her Pediatric Residency training, she was excited to learn that Pensacola, Florida, well known to her from years of family summer vacations at the beach, had a pediatric program at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital, now known as The Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart. She completed her residency in Pensacola, serving as Chief Resident during her third year of training. Dr. Wilkinson was thrilled to be offered a faculty position upon graduation and she and her husband decided to make Pensacola home. She has five children and eight grandchildren and enjoys reading historical fiction, puzzles, and is very competitive at board games!
Dr. Wilkinson has seen many changes in the residency program over the 30 years she has been here and is excited to be director now.
Meet our Associate Program Directors
Callah Antonetti, MD
Dr. Antonetti is originally from central Pennsylvania and lived in Pittsburgh for 12 years before moving down to Pensacola. She completed her undergraduate degree, medical school, and pediatric residency all at the University of Pittsburgh.
She is a pediatric hospitalist because she loves taking care of a wide range of patients, from children who just need a few hours of monitoring in the Observation Unit to those who require more complex care coordination, especially when they are feeling better and excited to go home! She has lived in Pensacola since 2016 and loves spending time with her husband and daughter boating, fishing, or just relaxing on the beach.
Carrie Garrison, MD
Dr. Garrison was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, AL (don’t hold it against her—Roll Tide). After medical school at UAB she completed residency at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas and then critical care fellowship at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City Utah.
She’s been with us here in Pensacola since 2016 and loves working with and teaching medical students and residents. Her medical interests include the care and treatment of patients with Traumatic Brain Injury and is the Pediatric Medical Director of our new ECMO Program. At home she’s busy chasing a spirited toddler and is married to a busy Air Force Chaplain, and civilian businessman. She enjoys podcasts, concerts and the beach!
Elyse Schrandt, MD
Dr. Schrandt was born in Hollywood, FL and was raised in Charlotte, NC. She has an undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Washington University in St Louis. She went to medical school at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville where she was a member of the charter class.
She graduated from the Pediatric Residency Program here in Pensacola and has returned as faculty. She works as an attending in both the clinic and in the inpatient teaching service. She is also Co-director of the Community Pediatrics and Advocacy rotation. When not at work, she stays busy at home with her hobbyist husband, two daughters, two senior dogs, and a pet frog. At the end of a long day, you can find her eating ice cream on the couch while watching Netflix.

ABOUT
THE TEAM
The medical staff of The Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart includes more than 120 board-certified physicians across 22 pediatric specialties. In addition to the pediatric residency program, The Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart partners with University of Florida Health, Pediatrix Medical Group, Ascension Medical Group Sacred Heart, Community Health Northwest Florida, and community pediatric practices to provide a wide variety of pediatric subspecialties that can be found nowhere else in Northwest Florida. Our faculty members provide guidance and education to our residents and are very accessible. The small size of our program allows for individual attention and one-on-one instruction.
