Dr. Joshua Hodge is the inaugural Program Director of the University of Florida Family Medicine Residency at Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast, in Miramar Beach, Florida.
Dr. Hodge is actively pursuing initial accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), and hopes to start training residents in the summer of 2023. Prior to joining the University of Florida and Ascension Sacred Heart, Dr. Hodge served over twenty years in the United States Air Force. During his Air Force career, he was a family medicine residency program director twice, at the Eglin AFB Family Medicine Residency (FL) and the National Capital Consortium Family Medicine Residency (VA). Dr. Hodge has held numerous academic leadership positions to include Designated Institutional Official, Director of Medical Education, and Family Medicine Department Chief. He is currently an Associate Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Florida and was previously an Associate Professor of Family Medicine at the Uniformed Services University. Dr. Hodge has spent his entire medical career in resident and medical student education. He is passionate about creating an optimal learning environment for trainees, mentoring residents and faculty, and pursuing innovative approaches to resident education.
